Education is the Soul of a Society.

Launching in Fall 2027, Chesterton Academy of Wilmington (CAW) is Wilmington’s new classical Catholic high school that teaches students not merely what to think, but how to live with clarity, virtue, and faith.

Our Mission

Purpose. Virtue. Joy.

Today’s world is moving faster than ever, often leaving young people adrift without a clear sense of who they are. Chesterton Academy of Wilmington anchors teenagers in timeless truths. Hallmarks of a Chesterton Education

An Incarnational Environment

The Incarnation is the central mystery we explore across every subject- from history to math. We help students encounter Christ personally in all areas of study and daily life.

A Focus on Truth, Goodness, and Beauty

Our liberal arts curriculum focuses heavily on developing Christian virtues and cultivating a deep, lifelong appreciation for what is true, good, and beautiful.

A Joyful Learning Environment

True education should be a joyful discovery. We foster an atmosphere of fun and tight-knit community where students can live out their faith with genuine enthusiasm.

Rediscovering the Lost Tools of Learning

We reclaim the foundational skills often forgotten today: deep reading, persuasive writing, masterful public speaking, and sharp critical reasoning through logic.

The Socratic Seminar

Using history’s oldest educational tool, teachers use directed questions and guided dialogue to bring great ideas to life and teach students how to think for themselves.

The Wit and Wisdom of G.K. Chesterton

Our patron exemplified the faith through his sharp intellect, legendary wit, and deep charity-teaching us how to love and engage with a world that disagrees with us.

"Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to another."

~ G. K. Chesterton
